As a dual-licensed marriage and family therapist and alcohol and drug counselor, I specialize in treating those whose lives have been affected by their own or someone else’s substance abuse. Addiction can best be understood by considering how the family functions as a whole, how individual members respond to the addicted person. Wherever you are in this cycle of recovery – as an addict or a family member – know that people can and do recover; they can restore freedom to their lives, even peace. Though it often feels like things will never change, they frequently can.
My goal as provider is to help you through the necessary losses and transitions of recovery, so that you can create the life you want. A life worth living.
My training incorporates marriage and family therapy relational models and principles of other collaborative and humanistic approaches. As a certified Gestalt therapist, I focus on mind/body awareness, a therapeutic technique reported helpful to families, couples and individuals in all stages of recovery. In my work as a certified addictions specialist, I’ve completed post-masters training in many areas related to addiction and recover.
These therapeutic modalities and approaches are well-suited to a wide range of problems that include, but are not limited to, working with individuals, couples and families dealing with:
- Substance and behavioral addiction
- Recovery from addiction
- Co-dependency
- Family system conflicts
- Relationship issues
